Stephanie Demetreon
President ✦ Follow & Lead
Stephanie found dance in 2015 during her first week of college in Bellingham, WA. She attended her first class with Swing Kids at Western Washington University and was instantly hooked. Stephanie went on to join the performance team, begin teaching for the club, and eventually took over as president. In 2021, Stephanie worked with two friends to revive the off-campus social dance, B’ham Hop, which she co-owned for 3 years, teaching and DJing weekly until she moved to Las Vegas. Stephanie’s first love has always been Lindy Hop, but she also enjoys dancing Balboa, Collegiate Shag, and blues. Outside of dance, Stephanie spends her time granting wishes with Make-A-Wish Nevada, playing video games, playing pool, and creating art.

I’m a fun‑loving, hard‑working mother of three sons who all grew up right here in the Las Vegas Valley. I’ve been dancing with Swing Dance Vegas since around 2014, and I’m happiest when I’m out on the floor dancing Lindy, Balboa, or Charleston—or behind the booth as DJ Rodeo, keeping the party rolling. As a part of the SDV dance community, one motto I live by is "Make ’em feel welcome, make sure they have fun, make ’em want to come back.” That's the fun-loving, people-loving side of me.
When it comes to working hard, I live by the motto: “Git ’er done and have some fun.” This guides everything else I do.
When I’m not dancing, you’ll usually find me painting, drawing, or working on something creative. I love education, I love community, and I love any opportunity to bring people together.
As part of the leadership team at Swing Dance Vegas, it’s my joy to serve this community. My hope is to help us continue growing into the friendliest, most fun, and most welcoming dance scene in the country—one where everyone feels at home the moment they walk through the door.
Gabriel Spitzer
Event Coordinator ✦ Lead & Follow
Gabriel started his swing dance journey in Flagstaff, Arizona over 15 years ago. As a long time musician playing multiple instruments, dancing felt like a natural next step in really enjoying music. In Flagstaff he learned to dance, DJ, teach, and eventually help run and organize the local college club. After moving to Las Vegas and getting back into dancing after taking some time away, he rediscovered his love for Lindy Hop, Balboa, soul, blues, and jazz. He loves hosting the night and DJing the late night sets ‘til the early hours of the morning. When not organizing the next event he enjoys traveling, playing board and video games, and relaxing with friends.
Stephanie Paloma
MARKETING DIRECTOR ✦ Follow & Lead
Motivated by a New Year's resolution to learn something new, Stephanie found her love of swing dancing in March of 2017 at Boomers Bar when a friend invited her out. She was instantly hooked and went to every class possible despite being in college and working two jobs. Though her first love was Lindy Hop, Stephanie's favorite thing to do now is dance and compete at Balboa events around the country. When she's not dancing or filming B-roll of our scene, you can find her monkeying around at the climbing gym, working on her crochet business, or cozying up on the couch playing video games.
Kristine Hansen
Teaching Coordinator ✦ Follow & Lead
Kristine’s Lindy Hop journey started just over 10 years ago after seeing people dancing for the first time to a live swing band in the Disneyland park. She immediately went home and found a Groupon for local classes and learned Lindy Hop in LA. She started dancing Lindy Hop while in college and took advantage of taking classes that provided more cultural context of Black American culture in the early 1900’s when jazz music and dancing were created. Some of her favorite writers to reference are: Langston Huges, James Baldwin, and Zora Neale Hurston. Having Lindy Hop in her life has let joy shine through sad times and that is due to the rich, welcoming culture this dance was born out of. It is important to her that students of Swing Dance Vegas know the history of the dance, dancers, and club culture that makes our community so lovely! Off the floor she enjoys crafting, DIY projects, and cuddling her cat.

Jennifer discovered swing dancing while in college at New York, taking her first Lindy Hop class at New York University’s Swing Dance Club with her dormmate 12 years ago. She instantly fell in love with dancing after visiting the Frim Fram Jam weekly social dancing event. Jennifer then joined the Swing Dance Vegas community in 2017, performing, competing, and absolutely loving the joy and friendships she found through dancing.

I fell in love with swing dancing in 2017 when I discovered this incredible community. I started with Lindy Hop and quickly added Balboa to the mix, and I've been in love ever since. The greatest gift has been the friends I've made, the ones dedicated to meeting up weekly (or more!) to practice, learn, and grow together. My journey has taken me through years of classes with Swing Dance Vegas and beyond as I've been able to travel all over the country, learning from dancers at the top of their craft. But my absolute favorite thing will always be social dancing to a live band with people from all over the world. To me, dance is a profound joy and a respite. Lindy Hop, born from black dancers in 1930s Harlem, has always had the power to ease suffering and connect us. This community makes that possible, and I'm thrilled to get back to volunteering my time and energy to help keep it alive, vibrant, and welcoming for everyone. See you on the dance floor!
